The Slough Phantoms are travelling to Iceland in April to take part in the NIAC - 'Northern Iceland Adventure Cup' organised by their national team coach.
This 4 day tournament will involve playing the National team of Iceland and the National team of Romania.
The Phantoms are also playing the University of Alberta Pandas Edmonton in Milton Keynes on Thursday 6th May @ 9pm.
This university team from Canada will be touring the UK and this friendly will certainly be very exciting game to watch. So come along and support the Phantoms!
The Slough Phantoms Women’s Ice Hockey Team were formed in 1990 and have gone from strength to strength since their first challenge match against Bracknell.
In their first season in 1991 the Phantoms won the Division 1 League and narrowly missed promotion to the Premier League.
Since promotion to the Premier League the Phantoms have been dominant either winning the league or as runners up since 1998.
In 1998 the Phantoms travelled to Canada to play in both the Brampton and Hamilton Tournaments, winning in Hamilton. More recently, in 2007 and 2008, the Phantoms have travelled to Cergy and Latvia respectively to play in the Women’s European Championships.
The Phantoms play out of Slough Ice Rink which is approx 30 minutes from London and 15 minutes from Windsor and Eton. Several players travel from surrounding areas and London for training and games.
This season the Phantoms have joined forces with the U18 team to form a combined session with great coaching that offers a friendly competitive atmosphere focussing on conditioning, speed and skills training.
